Over the past seven years Robert Shaw and The Lonely Street Band have been entertaining sold-out Circa ’21 audiences with their high energy musical tributes, including “Good Rockin’ Live”, “How Great Thou Art”, “Remember the King”, and “Man In Black”. This will be the third time the theatre has presented “Heartbreak Hotel”. “Everyone loved this show the first two times we did it!” said Brett Hitchcock, Circa ’21’s Director of Audience Development. “We’ve had a lot of requests to bring this show back and are happy to be able to do so.”

Mr. Shaw has a very impressive resume. In 1998 he accepted an offer to perform the role of “Elvis, The King of Rock and Roll”, at the historic Gaslight Theatre in Tucson, Arizona. Robert’s dark hair, full range voice, and “Elvis Eyes” all combined for a tremendous audience response that led him to create HEARTBREAK HOTEL- A SALUTE TO YOUNG ELVIS. Robert is also familiar to many in the Midwest from his role in the original Chicago cast of the smash-hit musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET. He also appeared on Broadway in the same show as both Elvis and Johnny Cash.

This critically acclaimed performance of HEARTBREAK HOTEL features the music of “Young Elvis”, belting out hits from the beginning of his career, starting in the mid- 1950’s through the early 60’s. The show kicks off with Elvis’ first recordings at Sun Records in Memphis “That’s All Right, Mama,” “Good Rockin’ Tonight,” through his chart topping years at RCA records “Don’t’ Be Cruel,” “Hound Dog” and even highlighting the King’s hits from his first movies “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Love Me Tender”. HEARTBREAK HOTEL features world-class musicians, authentic costumes and is chock full of humor, hip-swiveling and toe-tapping fun!

According to polls by both CBS and ABC News, 42% of all Americans call themselves Elvis fans including a whopping 66% of 55-64 year olds. If you are a fan of Elvis, don’t miss your chance to see the amazing Robert Shaw in HEARTBREAK HOTEL – A SALUTE TO YOUNG ELVIS.
