From wine to Wayne to a wace, er, race, there’s a lot going on in downtown Moline Centre this weekend. Here’s the rundown:

Barley & Rye Bistro will be hosting a 5-course wine dinner Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Showcasing Pedroncelli from Dry Creek Valley, California, Chef Jarod will be preparing mouth watering meals paired with distinct wine pairings for your culinary pleasure.  This is an evening you won’t want to miss so call for reservations today.

Also happening Thursday, Moline Centre Thursday Night Concerts on The Plaza at Bass Street Landing will feature 50 Shades of Rock presented by NAI Ruhl Commercial on June 9, and Smooth Groove on June 16.  Bands will play from 7 to 9 p.m. Food and beverages are available for purchase.

smooth grooveLil Wayne makes a stop at the iWireless Center Friday at 8 p.m. with special guest O.T. Genesis and local openers Torrian Ball, Legend and Royce Wright.  This Grammy award winning rapper has sold over 100 million records worldwide, 37 million digital tracks in the U.S. and has had the most entries on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, recently surpassing Elvis Presley.  Since entering the rap game at the tender age of nine, Lil Wayne has become one of the most successful male artists of all time.

Time to get your pink on! The 2016 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure takes place Saturday at 8 a.m. in front of the iWireless Center. Musical entertainment will serenade you throughout the course and a wide variety of vendor booths and a Fun Zone for the kids will be available at the end.  Don’t forget to stop at some of our Moline Centre businesses who will be offering specials throughout the day.

Get ready for the Quad Cities’ biggest and best rummage sale from June 15 – June 18, as the 33rd Annual Second Fiddle sale opens in the old Moline Public Library.  Purchase tickets for the Preview Party where you will get first pick of some of their best items and enjoy complimentary wine and appetizers.

Bring the whole family and join in the annual Father’s Day tradition at River Action’s 32nd Annual Ride the River on June 19.  Enjoy a bi-state tour of the Quad Cities along riverfront bike trails and cruise along the Mississippi River on the Celebration Belle riverboat from Iowa to Illinois.  The ride begins at 7 a.m. You can follow the basic route or plan your own ride on the many optional trails and loops.
