Discovery Depot and Judy’s Cafe Partner to Launch New Interactive Exhibit
GALESBURG, IL — Discovery Depot Children’s Museum and Judy’s Family Cafe have partnered to bring a new, locally inspired experience to the community with the launch of a “Little Judy’s”, now open to the public inside Discovery Depot.
Designed to spark imagination and interactive play, the new space brings a familiar Galesburg experience into the museum setting. Children can step into a café-inspired environment where they can take on roles, explore creativity, and engage in the kind of real-world play that Discovery Depot is known for delivering.
Judy’s has been a viral sensation online and a huge draw in real life for its excellent food at its Galesburg location.
“Judy has an iconic presence with families, and so for us this was a great partnership, and we’re looking forward to several years of this,” the museum’s executive director Denise Gerstenberger, said. “Little Judy’s Cafe” is located in the Depot’s “Ferris Junction Village,” which is a miniature version of Galesburg in the museum.
The addition reflects Discovery Depot’s ongoing commitment to evolving its exhibits in ways that connect directly to the community, making each visit both meaningful and memorable.

The exhibit opening comes at a milestone moment for Discovery Depot, as the children’s museum celebrates its 30th anniversary the week of May 18. The Judy-themed area serves as both a tribute to local impact and a forward-looking addition to the museum’s mission of engaging, educational play.
