Two candidates will interview Monday-Tuesday, Nov. 1-2 and Monday-Tuesday, Nov. 15-16 for the dean of Western Illinois University Libraries.

Ryan Buller, associate professor and access services librarian at University Libraries, University of Denver, and Hector Maymi-Sugranes, Dean of Western Illinois University Libraries Interviews Set Nov. 1-2 Nov. 15-16professor, College of Social Science and Humanities, CETYS University, will interview Nov. 1-2 and Nov. 15-16, respectively. An open session will be held at 10 a.m. in Horrabin Hall 1 and via Zoom for each candidate. Buller has served as an associate professor and access services librarian at University Libraries, University of Denver, since 2019. Previously, he was an assistant professor and access services librarian at University Libraries, University of Denver, from 2013-2019. Buller has also served as the access services unit coordinator (2012-2013), a library specialist (2011-2012) and a library assistant (2009-2011) at the Leslie F. Malpass Library at WIU.

Buller received his Ed.D. from the University of Denver, a master’s degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a master’s from WIU and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Maymi-Sugranes has served as a professor, College of Social Science and Humanities, CETYS University, since 2007. He has also served as a visiting professor at Xochicalco University’s School of Agriculture (2010-2012), at Alliant University’s International Studies Division/School of Management and Leadership (2007-2009) and at Autonomous University’s Social and Political Sciences (2005-2007). Maymi-Sugranes has served as an associate professor at San Diego State University-Imperial Campus (2002-2005) and the University of Puerto Rico (1997-2002).

Maymi-Sugranes received his Ph.D., a master’s degree and graduate certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a master’s and bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico.
