The Davenport Public Library is excited to welcome Cellist Hannah Holman to the Eastern Avenue Branch on Saturday, April 9th at 11am!

Join Hannah Holman on Saturday, April 9th at 11 a.m. to learn about the lives of influential women cellists. Please join us to hear some of the absolutely incredible and inspiring stories of these women along with actual recordings and, in some cases, video.

Hannah Holman’s first cello teacher was her grandmother, Eleanor Holman, whose cello she plays today. As she has gone through life, she developed greater appreciation for her grandmother, born in 1908, as a female cellist. She has a hunger for learning about the lives of many women cellists who reached great heights in their day, but whose names and achievements have long been forgotten. With Nicolas Propes, she has done a series on YouTube called Influential Female Cellists with 9 episodes so far, more to come. One of the episodes was quoted in both the Boston Globe and the international Strad magazine.
