Baked, at 1113 Mound Street in the Village of East Davenport, is closing down for the last time today after its regular Sunday hours end at 9 p.m.

Posts began to fly around Facebook today about the restaurant closing down for good, most of them not exactly generous towards the ownership, many claiming that the employees weren’t given any notice.

Management responded to the posts on its Baked Facebook page today, stating, “regardless of what you read on the internet. All employees were told 12/23 & offered positions at one of our other businesses. All gift cards will be honored at Toasted.

The reason a post wasn’t made prior to today is because we didn’t want the public to descend on our restaurant for “one last visit” when our staff is already overworked & stressed.
So like we mentioned – there are certainly several ill intentioned posts going around the internet but we have done everything we can to keep people employed & paid for as long as possible.”
At any rate, if you want to hit Baked one last time, you’ve only got a couple hours to do it. For more info, see their social HERE.
