Our latest video is one from a band that was huge in their native Britain, but didn’t gain any traction in the U.S. aside from underground college radio until this hit, which was featured in the movie “The Karate Kid.”

The band, Bananarama, would go on to have a number of other hits in the U.S., most notably their number one hit, a cover of Shocking Blue’s “Venus,” but this was the one that broke through for them in this country. By the end of the ’80s, the act, like so many others of that decade, had faded from the charts, but they remain in our hearts, especially for their messy hair and overalls look in this video, “Cruel Summer,” your Video You Deserve for today…
