Mondays can be rough.

Don't Throw Shades At This Week's Video You DeserveAnd so, every Monday, we give you a music video. A fun, funny music video. Something that’ll make you smile, make you laugh, make you reminisce, and make you realize that back in the day, music video creators were probably either insane or heavily intoxicated. But were also incredibly entertaining.

We call this feature, The Video You Deserve, and you can find it every Monday on your site for fun, free entertainment and features, QuadCities.com.

Our latest video is one which didn’t quite make bright yellow banana suits popular, but it was a big hit for its creator.

Donnie Iris was part of the new wave movement of the late ’70s and early ’80s, and put out a number of great power pop albums. With his Buddy Holly with a perm look, Iris was reminiscent of another power pop superstar to rise around that same time, a guy named Elvis Costello, and another who was about to arrive on the scene, Marshall Crenshaw.

But, one thing they all had in common was that they wrote and performed terrific pop songs, and all of them had a string of minor hits on the charts.

Including this one, “Ah Leah,” by Donnie Iris.
