Iowa Students Encouraged To Apply For Thomas K. Evans Memorial Scholarship

The application period for the Thomas K. Evans Memorial Scholarship is now open! The scholarship is a merit-based, one-time gift for new college entrants pursuing education in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Every year, the scholarship awards one local Quad-Cities student $5,000 to pursue their education. Applications are due by Monday, Feb. 27, 2023. Late applications will not be accepted. Eldridge's Grace Bjustrom Wins 2020 Evans Scholarship

DAVENPORT—Grace Bjustrom of Eldridge has been named as the 2020 recipient of the Thomas K. Evans Memorial Scholarship. Bjustrom, a soon-to-be graduate of North Scott High School (Eldridge), will receive $5,000 toward tuition, room and board at Iowa State University (Ames), where she plans to study agricultural engineering and marketing in the fall. “Grace has an impressive academic record, and she wowed us with her involvement in STEM activities. Joseph Dryoel Named Thomas K. Evans Memorial Scholarship Winner

Joseph Dryoel of Colona has been named as the 2019 recipient of the Thomas K. Evans Memorial Scholarship. Dryoel, a June graduate of United Township High School (East Moline) and co-valedictorian of his class, will receive $5,000 toward tuition at Loyola University (Chicago), where he plans to study pre-health in the fall. “Joey stands out, not only for his academic achievements but also because of the unique way he became interested in medicine — through the arts.
