DAVENPORT — A 138-year-old play by the Norwegian master Henrik Ibsen holds painfully relevant lessons for our chaotic 2020 political climate. In a 2019 adaptation of “An Enemy of the People,” a battle between public health concerns and economic prosperity plays out in the public sphere between concerned citizens and leaders of the local government. 1971 Ambrose Alum Donates $2.5M to Honor History Professor

Fifty years ago, a Muscatine native was inspired by a St. Ambrose University professor who could make geography really come alive first thing in the morning. That 1971 SAU alumnus, John L. Butler, announced Wednesday that he would give $2.5 million to the private university to permanently endow and name an academic chair in the SAU History Department in honor of that professor, Agnes C. Renner. Butler, who graduated summa cum laude with a degree in history, went on to receive a Master of Arts degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. Abbie Metz Named Coach Of Black Hawk College's First Women's Soccer Team

MOLINE (BHC) — Black Hawk College will launch its new women’s soccer program with a familiar face. Abbie Metz, a Black Hawk College grad, has been tapped to lead the team that will begin competing in Fall 2021. On Aug. 1, she will become the Braves’ first-ever women’s soccer head coach. “I look forward to working with her on building the program from the ground up,” said Arnie Chavera, interim athletic director. It may have a new name, but this amazing event for local girls in the Quad Cities is back and better than ever! St. Ambrose University hosts ‘Introduce a Girl to STEAM’, formerly ‘Introduce a Girl to Engineering’, on Tuesday Feb 18 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Rogalski Center (518 W Locust Street Davenport, 3rd Floor).
