Very few teams from the Quad-Cities area have ever competed in the USA Cup, let alone won a trophy there. The annual tournament in Blaine, Minn. features teams from around the world and is only open to the top-ranked squads from states across the country. The East Moline Silvis Soccer Club Spartans U11 team has moved up to #15 in the state and #70 in the Midwest! The Spartans are the top-ranked team in the Quad-Cities region, and have moved up from #22 last month after a second-place finish in the Legacy Challenge in O’Fallon, near St. Louis, and a first place finish in the Armed Forces Tournament in Moline, after a thrilling penalty kick shootout 7-6 win over the Q-C Strikers.
