United Way Quad Cities Awards $275K in New Grants to Promote Racial Equity

On Friday, United Way Quad Cities announced it has awarded $275,000 in grants to local organizations to help reduce and prevent racial inequities in education, income and health. WIU RAC Partnering with Salvation Army for Drive-Through Turkey Dinner Thursday

The Western Illinois University Resident Assistant Council (RAC), in partnership with the Salvation Army, will provide this year’s Community Turkey Dinner through curb-side pick-up, from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19 in Tanner Circle. This annual event is open to the Macomb community. The Pandemic Pantry is an effort coordinated by local business leaders to re-supply the food bank at the The Salvation Army of Muscatine County, Iowa. With the outbreak of the Coronavirus, there has been an increased number of families relying on our local food banks.
