Q-C Storm Raises Over $20,000 To Fight Cancer

The Quad City Storm, “the team that gives back,” hosted a Hockey Fights Cancer Weekwhich began with a Paint the Ice Event on February 6 and ended with a win over arch rival Peoria Rivermen on February 9. The game drew a crowd of over 5,000 and raised $21,700 for Gilda’s Club of the Quad Cities. The Storm’s Giving Back Campaign, #QCSTORMCARES, has now raised over $64,700 in only 16 games with hopes to raise $100,000 for local charities before the season ends in April. There’s plenty going on with the Quad-Cities Storm this week! The hockey team has been active in roster changes and more. Here’s the rundown: Harrison Added To Bolster Blue Line   Patrick Harrison has been signed by the Quad City Storm. Harrison is a defenseman from Vernon, Ontario and is in his fourth year playing professional hockey. Today the Quad City Storm acquired defenseman Tyler Minx from the Knoxville Ice Bears in exchange for future considerations. Minx, a left-handed defenseman, is a native of Oklahoma City.  Storm forward Tim Perks has been released to create roster space for Minx.    Storm defenseman Ludlow Harris Jr. has been suspended for a single game by the SPHL for an elbowing penalty he received in last Saturday’s game.  He will miss this Thursday’s game versus the Birmingham Bulls.  Per the SPHL: “Quad City’s Ludlow Harris, Jr. has been suspended one game as a result of his actions in SPHL... Read More

The Quad City Storm has reacquired forward Tim Perks. Perks was a member of the Storm’s training camp roster and released before the regular season roster was finalized.  He is a first-year pro and graduated from Northland College last year where he played for four years. A very strange rumor began to surface late this week that former Beatle Paul McCartney had accepted an invitation to be a VIP to the Quad City Storm’s home opening game this Saturday at 7 p.m. at the TaxSlayer Center, 1201 River Drive, Moline. There’s a veritable torrent of news coming from the Quad-Cities’ new hockey team, the Q-C Storm! Opening night is October 20 and today the Quad City Storm are unveiling their plan to pack the TaxSlayer Center! Quad City Storm Adds Six Players To Lineup

The Quad City Storm announced today that the team has signed Chris Kravchuk, Troy Henley, Vinny Caligiuri, Jake Schultz, Joe McKeown, and Tommy Tsicos to a professional tryout agreement for the team’s October training camp. Chicago, Illinois native Chris Kravchuk most recently played in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dogs and the Fayettesville Marksmen.
