GAHC Reopens Tomorrow!

The German American Heritage Center & Museum (712 W 2nd Street Davenport) is excited to announce that they will be carefully reopening with specific conditions on Tuesday, June 23. GAHC will offer ticketed and timed visits to groups of less than 6 every 45 minutes during their normal hours. They will be instituting new cleaning procedures, social distancing, sanitization areas, and mask requirements for those able. They say clothes make the man. They also make Laura Heath very happy, especially when they authentically evoke a specific era. With her husband, Heath owns Trash Can Annie’s 418 E. 2nd St., Davenport, which has been closed to the public since last spring’s historic flooding. Davenport’s German American Heritage Center Down Through April 16

The German American Heritage Center is shutting down through April 16, extending their closure as per the recommendation of the governor. The museum released the following statement today: The GAHC wants to do our part in “flattening the curve” to help stop the spread of Coronavirus. A brand-new exhibit is coming to the German American Heritage Center & Museum this weekend! “Steam Circus: The Colorful World of Carousels” is heading to the German American Heritage Center & Museum (712 W 2nd St Davenport) this Sunday May 27 from 12-4 p.m. and every Sunday thereafter through Oct 21! Everything always seems a little spookier around Halloween time, and the German American Heritage Center and Museum is no exception! The German American Heritage Center and Museum will be hosting ‘The Darker Side of Davenport Ghost Tour’ throughout the month of October. This thrilling walk through historic Davenport will keep you on your toes. The Darker Side of Davenport Ghost Tour will take place every Saturday in October at 10:30 a.m. Tours are only $5 per person. The entire route is around 1.6 miles and will last 1-2 hours.
