Davenport’s German American Heritage Center is looking out for its customers in regard to their safety and covid-19! The museum released the following statement today in regard to its policies: The ongoing safety of our German American Heritage Center and Museum (GAHC) visitors, volunteers and staff is our top priority. Learn about World War II in Iowa during a new exhibit running through Jan 17 at German American Heritage Center & Museum, 712 W 2nd St., Davenport. WWII was a global conflict that forever altered society and touched the lives of people around the world, including right here in Iowa. The year 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII. GAHC Reopens Tomorrow!

The German American Heritage Center & Museum (712 W 2nd Street Davenport) is excited to announce that they will be carefully reopening with specific conditions on Tuesday, June 23. GAHC will offer ticketed and timed visits to groups of less than 6 every 45 minutes during their normal hours. They will be instituting new cleaning procedures, social distancing, sanitization areas, and mask requirements for those able. The German American Heritage Center is shutting down through April 16, extending their closure as per the recommendation of the governor. The museum released the following statement today: The GAHC wants to do our part in “flattening the curve” to help stop the spread of Coronavirus. Everything always seems a little spookier around Halloween time, and the German American Heritage Center and Museum is no exception! The German American Heritage Center and Museum will be hosting ‘The Darker Side of Davenport Ghost Tour’ throughout the month of October. This thrilling walk through historic Davenport will keep you on your toes. The Darker Side of Davenport Ghost Tour will take place every Saturday in October at 10:30 a.m. Tours are only $5 per person. The entire route is around 1.6 miles and will last 1-2 hours.
