Quad-Cities Music Legend Mike Stroehle, Night People Founder, Passes Away

Mike Stroehle, a founding member of the legendary Quad-Cities rock group The Night People, which opened for Jimi Hendrix at the height of his fame in 1968, passed away Sunday after a bad fall on the steps outside his home. Stroehle was 75. You’ll want to check out Rob Dahms and Gary Pearson of the band performing 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at Bootleg Hill Honey Meads, 321 E. 3rd St., Davenport. Night People Reuniting For One Last Show

The Night People are making one last bow before heading into their own good night. The Night People, a local Quad Cities music group for over 50 years, were inducted into the Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on September 3, 2017.  This prestigious designation was in recognition of their influence and contribution to the area music scene.  Over the 50 plus years the band has been together, they have opened for many prominent national and international music acts, most notably for Jimi Hendrix at The Col Ballroom in August 1968.
