MACOMB, IL — The Western Illinois University Food Pantry will resume full operations for all students, staff and faculty from noon-5 p.m. Thursday Aug. 27. Due to the ongoing health crisis, the pantry has updated its policies and procedures to keep all patrons and volunteers safe and healthy while visiting the WIU Food Pantry. Western Illinois University Food Pantry Announces Summer Hours

The Western Illinois University Food Pantry has announced its hours for this Summer 2020. The pantry will be open to serve all students, staff and faculty in need from 3-5 p.m. each Tuesday. Proper cleaning measures are in place, as well as social distancing practices due to COVID-19. The health and well-being of all volunteers and patrons remains a top priority. Christmas in July Food Drive Happening Now!

While the temps continue to rise outside, one local man is working to keep the Christmas spirit alive in all of us. Henry’s Christmas Yard, located at 1504 26th Avenue Moline, is currently hosting a Christmas in July Food Drive. Henry the dog and his human Scott Hildebrand are utilizing some fun-filled Christmas decorations to remind us that hunger is not something people only experience around the holidays.
