Video games and cartoons take up a lot of children’s time, and the Family Museum’s summer exhibit, Run! Jump! Fly! Adventures in Action is out to combat childhood inertia. The exhibit, opening June 8 and running through September 8, 2019, invites children and adults to explore activities such as kung fu, surfing, snowboarding, yoga, and horizontal climbing. This June, Girl Scouts of Eastern IA & Western IL (GSEIWI) will host their 8th annual leadership and self-discovery program known as Raise Your Voice. From June 21 till June 23, girls will spend a weekend living in dorms and exploring campus life at Loras College. Attendees will learn how their skills, their story, and their passions can be used to change the world. The Family Museum will continue its tradition of seasonal, family-friendly activities with WinterFest on Sunday, December 2, from 12:00-5:00 pm. For the first time ever, guests will meet a real reindeer and visit with both Santa and Mrs. Claus!
