Scare Up Some Fun and Learning at the Rock Island Library this October

A spooky escape game full of local haunts makes for a timely addition to the Rock Island Public Library’s programming treats for October. Escape rooms are a fun way to try creative problem solving with family and friends. Ages 12 and up can sign up now to take on the Library’s Haunted Escape Room game on Tuesday, October 22. Participants will take on the role of a ghost hunter, and attempt to unlock the mystery of the haunted library in just 30 minutes.  Not all ghosts are friendly, so there may be obstacles to your escape! Family Museum Ramps Up Run! Jump! Fly! For Summer

Video games and cartoons take up a lot of children’s time, and the Family Museum’s summer exhibit, Run! Jump! Fly! Adventures in Action is out to combat childhood inertia. The exhibit, opening June 8 and running through September 8, 2019, invites children and adults to explore activities such as kung fu, surfing, snowboarding, yoga, and horizontal climbing. Raise Your Voice With The Girl Scouts

This June, Girl Scouts of Eastern IA & Western IL (GSEIWI) will host their 8th annual leadership and self-discovery program known as Raise Your Voice. From June 21 till June 23, girls will spend a weekend living in dorms and exploring campus life at Loras College. Attendees will learn how their skills, their story, and their passions can be used to change the world. Winterfest Coming To Family Museum

The Family Museum will continue its tradition of seasonal, family-friendly activities with WinterFest on Sunday, December 2, from 12:00-5:00 pm. For the first time ever, guests will meet a real reindeer and visit with both Santa and Mrs. Claus!
