‘It Had To Be You’ Brings Laughs And Love To Black Box

Looking for something sweet as pumpkin pie on your theater plate this Thanksgiving week? The Black Box Theatre is presenting the holiday romantic comedy “It Had to Be You” by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna. The play will star Black Box Theatre Co-founder Lora Adams opposite actor and cartoonist Jason Platt. The audience is in on the action. Did Miss Scarlet do it in the kitchen with a wrench? The audience decides in The Black Box Theatre’s newest offering – “Clue: The Musical.” Based on the board game, the action follows six characters who may or may not be the murderer of host Mr. Boddy. The audience receives forms to help them deduce the solution from clues given throughout the fun-filled evening. Broadway Star Weygandt returning to Q-C For Black Box Show

The Black Box Theatre is excited to announce that Broadway and television star Gene Weygandt will be performing at the theatre on October 20 and 21 in A.R. Gurney’s “Love Letters.” Mr. Weygandt will share the stage with Lora Adams. Weygandt played the “Wonderful Wizard of Oz” in “Wicked” in Chicago and on Broadway. Other Broadway credits include his role as Paul in “Big.” Recently he has been seen as Chief Jones in “Chicago Fire” and is a three-time recipient of a Joseph Jefferson Award in Chicago. Black Box Presents ‘I Love You, Because’

The Black Box Theatre in downtown Moline presents the Midwest premiere of “I Love You, Because,” a contemporary musical version of Jane Austin’s novel “Pride and Prejudice.” The production features lyrics by Ryan Cunningham, and music by Joshua Salzman.
