The Putnam Museum’s exhibition, “Liberated Voices, Changed Lives,” showcases how technology provided more time for women to work on the suffrage movement which led to the ratification of the 19th amendment on August 26,1920. This amendment gave some women the right to vote in the United States. Bettendorf Public Library Commemorates 19th Amendment anniversary with live Canton Visit

In recognition of the centennial anniversary of the 19th Amendment, the Bettendorf Public Library will be hosting a historical performance on August 26th at 7:00 PM. Historian Laura F. Keyes will perform as suffragist Elizabeth Cady Stanton in a live virtual presentation. The performance is free thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library.
