Central DeWitt hired a new football coach in the off season.  Ryan Streets is taking over the Sabers program. Streets was part of the Central DeWitt program back when they won back to back conference championships in 2007-08.  The Sabers hope the changes are the key to success.

Sam Henderson, an 11 year old from Bettendorf, is one of the best Junior pool players in the country.  Sam spends several days per week at the pool hall working on his game. He has gotten so good at the game that Sam is one out of 32 pool players world wide sponsored by McDermott Pool Cues!

United Township is coming off a 2-7 season, as well as losing 23 seniors.  They do return their Head Coach Jim DuPage which should give then some stability and consistency.  Now they need to turn the page and focus on getting better as a team.

Local Pool Player Making A Name For Himself - Mon, 06 Aug 2018
Sam Henderson, an 11 year old from Bettendorf, has been making a name for himself in the Billiards Community.  Sam is a top ranked player according to the American Poolplayers Association and caught the eye of McDermott Cues one of the bigger names in Billiards. Sam recently won a big national tournament in New Orleans.

Competition drives Illini Football, Local Flag Football Tournament, QC 76ers plays in state tournament - Sun, 05 Aug 2018
Lovie Smith says their is competition at every position on this years Illinois Football team which he hopes will make them a better team. A local flag football tournament gives players a chance to relive their glory days.  It’s also is a way for kids heading back to school to get some school supplies. The Quad City 76ers, a semi-pro baseball team, host the IABA State Baseball Tournament.  The 76ers lost both their games and were eliminated from the tournament.

Assumption Baseball celebrates the accomplishment of winning back to back State Championship.  Their Seniors were a big part in what the team’s success. Former Rock Island standout C.J. Carr is ready to take his game to Germany to play professional basketball in Augsburg. Chicago Bears are working on improving their offense after being near the bottom of the league in several offensive categories.
