The eclectic and intriguing art of Donnie Bobb will be on display July 8 through 21 at the latest Taste of Q-C Art at Taste Buds, 1629 2nd Ave., Rock Island (in the District, across from Bennigans). An opening reception for the show will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday. Patrons can meet and talk to the artist and indulge in free coffees, smoothies, candy, snacks and more. Lundahl Paintings On Exhibit In Historic Building

Augustana College has loaned seven of its works by the painter Frank Lundahl to the Safety Building in Rock Island. This loan was coordinated by the Doris and Victor Day Foundation located in that same building, built 1907-1908. The case where the recently installed works are on display has sat empty for years. Dave Geenen, executive director at the foundation, said he believes “that art needs to be brought to the people and made accessible to all.” Geenen’s hope is that, “people will know that we have lots of history, talent and innovation in the Quad Cities and will celebrate our past... Read More

The imaginative, quirky and vibrantly eclectic artworks of Sara Holtz are sprouting on the walls at Taste Buds, 150 16 ½ St., Rock Island, through April 27. Holtz utilizes a wide array of found objects and different textures in her mixed media art, including metalware, fabrics, stones, plastics and even ground spices.
