Rock Island Library offers free, one-on-one drop-in technology help from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on three Fridays per month. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, November labs will be offered: Friday, Nov. 3 at the Rock Island Downtown Library Reference Desk, 401 19th Street; Friday, Nov. 10 at the 30/31 Library, 3059 30th Street; and Friday, Nov. 17 at the Southwest Library, 9010 Ridgewood Road. The Society of Women Engineers – QuadCities/Muscatine awarded Colleen Gannon from DeWitt, IA a $1000 scholarship for her outstanding academic performance in engineering and her passion the help better the lives of others. Colleen is entering her senior year at the University of Iowa majoring in electrical and computer engineering with minors in mathematics and computer science. The Popular Astronomy Club will be holding a Public Astronomy Night on Saturday March 18 in the Niabi Zoo parking lot.
