Bettendorf High School Science Team Finishes Second In Iowa Science Olympiad

The BHS Science Olympiad Team recently competed in the virtual Iowa Science Olympiad Regional Tournament with 7 other teams and placed 2nd overall! The team received 1st place medals in Astronomy, Disease Detectives, Dynamic Planet, and Rocks and Minerals. They were also awarded 3rd place medals in Anatomy and Physiology, and Fermi Questions. Like a lot of us, Molly Conrad has learned a lot about light and darkness during the Covid pandemic. Bettendorf Robotics Team Heading to Iowa State Competition

The UBett Robotics Team hosted a super qualifier event in robotics on Saturday for a chance to qualify for state. Students representing 24 schools and communities from all over Eastern Iowa including Bettendorf, Pleasant Valley, and North Scott took part in the competition. BHS was the first team selected for the Alliance that won first place for the entire tournament. UBett Robotics will compete at the State Tournament in Coralville along with 47 other teams on March 3rd and 4th, with a chance to advance to the world championships in Houston Texas in April.
