MACOMB/Moline, IL – – Let’s improve communication across the board! McDonough District Hospital, Western Illinois University and Spoon River College will host speaker, strategist and consultant Lisa X. Walden on “Connecting Across Generations: Generational Insights at Work” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 in the University Union, Grand Ballroom on the Macomb campus.

“We are making this accessible to the public with the aim of enhancing communication within organizations and communities,” WIU Interim Assistant Vice President Alisha Looney said. “Improved communication can be achieved through understanding generational differences, which can lead to misunderstandings. However, these differences can also encourage employees to practice active listening and clear communication. Considering diverse perspectives can result in better decision-making that is more well-rounded and effective.”

Walden is a renowned speaker, strategist and consultant who is passionate about helping businesses create authentic, empowering workplaces that don’t make employees dread going to work on Monday mornings. In her presentations, she shares actionable insights that help people build better connections, collaborate more effectively and communicate with greater clarity. As the co-founder of “Good Company Consulting,” Walden believes in the revolutionary idea that people and strategy should not be mutually exclusive.

Additionally, she takes a holistic approach to workplace strategy, placing human beings at the forefront since they are the most valuable resources any business has.
