The Quad City Symphony Orchestra will livestream its Holiday Brass concert Saturday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m., from the Central DeWitt Performing Arts Center.

The QCSO Holiday Brass performed Dec. 14, 2019 at North Scott Fine Arts Auditorium in Eldridge.

The livestream and recording will be available for $25 per household. The concert will be available via digital access through Jan. 11, 2021.

Conducted by QCSO music director Mark Russell Smith, the program features 13 brass players from the orchestra, plus timpani and percussion, and includes holiday favorites like “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” “Adeste Fideles,” “Silent Night,” “Nutcracker Suite,” “Jesu Bambino,” “Joy to the World,” and “Sleigh Ride.”

The concert also includes Gustav Holst’s “Christmas Day” and Anthony DiLorenzo’s adaptation of the famous “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” to be narrated by WQAD News 8’s Eric Sorensen.

Live Stream access information will be emailed to the ticket purchaser at least 24 hours before the event. If you purchase digital access to the

Jonathan Turner

Jonathan Turner -- who has called the Quad Cities home since 1995 -- has decades of experience as a professional journalist and pianist. His experience writing for daily newspapers, public radio and local TV encompasses a wide range of subjects, including the arts, politics, education, economic development, historic preservation, business, and tourism.

Jonathan most loves writing about music and the arts (which he now does as a freelancer for the River Cities Reader and Visit Quad Cities). He has a passion for accompanying musicals, singers, choirs and instrumentalists, including playing for QC Music Guild's 2023 productions of RENT and SWEENEY TODD. Jonathan penned a 175-page history book about downtown Davenport, that was published by The History Press in 2016, and a travel guide about the QC published by Reedy Press in 2022.
