MACOMB/Moline, IL — The Western Illinois University Department of Mathematics and Philosophy has received approval for its new New Online Master's Degree to be offered by WIU Department of Mathematics and Philosophymaster’s program from the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE).

The Master of Science in Teaching Mathematics (MSTM) degree is designed for current teachers of secondary mathematics. Courses will all be offered in an online format.

This innovative program will give teachers an opportunity to earn a master’s degree in mathematics to teach dual credit and college-level courses. Some of the courses for this program have already been offered online and were successfully completed by area teachers.
