Downtown Davenport Summer Kickoff Block Party Hosted By Common Chord

Presented in partnership with the Quad Cities Cultural Trust, the City of Davenport, and Supporting Sponsor Tower Trust and Investment, Common Chord’s Live At 5 Summer Kickoff Block Party will feature live music, more than fifteen community cultural organizations with their summer event information and giveaways, and new this year – a special afterglow party with Quad City Arts featuring Silent Disco. The event will take place in downtown Davenport’s Skybridge Courtyard and along Second Street between Main and Brady Streets (which will be closed to vehicles) on Friday, June 6th from 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. with the afterglow party immediately following from 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Featuring two rockin’ local bands -10 of Soul and QC Rock Academy- so get ready to dance the night away and sing your heart out!

In addition to the live music, the Block Party also will offer free activities for the whole family, including, facepainting, games, fun activities, and will feature community cultural partners from across the Quad Cities, sharing information about their summer program offerings. Come check out: Quad Cities Cultural Trust, Quad City Symphony Orchestra, Putnam Museum & Science Center, Figge Art Museum, The Lincoln Center, Quad City Botanical Center, Freight House Farmers Market, Davenport Parks & Recreation/ Junior Theater, German American Heritage Center, CASI, Bix Jazz Society, Azubuike Arts, Bix Beiderbecke Museum, Mississippi Valley Blues Society, Downtown Davenport Partnership, and Visit Quad Cities.

‘We are excited to partner with so many of Davenport’s cultural organizations to celebrate the start of summer,” said Tyson Danner, Executive Director of Common Chord. “For 21 years, Common Chord has created vibrant cultural experiences in the heart of downtown Davenport. There’s no better way to celebrate that success than highlighting the many varied cultural experiences available throughout our community.”

But the party doesn’t stop there: Immediately following the final band, head to the Skybridge Courtyard for the Afterglow Party and an epic Silent Disco, presented in partnership with Quad City Arts. Featuring DJ Buddha, Shane Brown, and Dr. Lee from 8:00-10:00pm, get your groove on and dance like nobody’s watching!

There will be a cash bar and food trucks available during the event. No outside food or alcohol is permitted. To access this year’s musical lineup, go to
