‘A Faith Under Siege: Russia’s Hidden War on Ukraine’s Christians’ Screening Saturday In DeWitt
IA NICE is hosting a special screening of A Faith Under Siege: Russia’s Hidden War on Ukraine’s Christians in person with the film’s executive producers Steven Moore and Anna Shvetsova at 5 p.m. this Saturday, July 12, at the Dewitt Operahouse Theatre.
Immediately following the 1-hour film, Moore and Shvetsova will take questions and engage in conversation with the audience.
Produced by Colby Barrett, with Moore and Shvetsova, A Faith Under Siege takes viewers to the front lines of the harrowing reality facing Ukraine’s Christian communities under Russian occupation, who have endured the seizure of their churches, the torture of their pastors, and the abduction of their children. A Faith Under Siege reveals Putin’s violent assault on religious freedom, while showcasing the unwavering resolve of believers—pastors, aid workers, missionaries—who risk everything to keep faith alive.
A Faith Under Siege premiered as Russia intensified its bombing campaign against Ukrainian civilians, and just weeks after Russia’s Palm Sunday ballistic and drone attack on Sumy, Ukraine, that killed 35 civilians, including women and children, and injured over 100 more who were attending church services.
“Seeing how Christians in Ukraine have persevered in the face of torture, drone attacks, and even abductions of their children at the hands of invading Russian forces strengthened my own faith, and I’m so excited to bring their stories to fellow believers,” said Barrett.
A Faith Under Siege is being screened in a small number of communities that have welcomed Ukrainian refugees as Russia intensifies its bombing campaign against Ukrainian civilians.
IA NICE is incredibly grateful to the DeWitt Operahouse Theatre for hosting this special screening of A Faith Under Siege, as this is the perfect place to elevate the testimony of Ukrainian Christians and highlight their powerful demonstration of resilience and faith.
Tickets are only $5 and space is limited, so please reserve tickets in advance. (Ticket costs cover refreshments and ticketing costs. All proceeds will benefit local Ukrainians who have recently lost the legal right to work in the U.S.)
