Believe it or not, the classic Bucktown building in downtown Davenport was once a pretty wild and rowdy place.

You can learn more about it during a new Zoom program taking place at 6 p.m. Monday, called Davenport’s Bucktown in 1903: “Worst Town in America.”

A 1903 editorial in the Chicago Record-Herald claimed our very own Davenport swiped New York City’s title as the “Worst Town in America.” Join author Jonathan Turner, our very own arts and entertainment reporter for QuadCities.com, for a look at what earned Bucktown such a dubious honor. Jonathan literally wrote the book on the subject, the book being “A Brief History of Bucktown!”
