New Video Offers Sneak Preview Of Future Bison Bridge Location
The Bison Bridge Foundation debuted a new video today of the proposed site for the future National Park!
A planned viewing area on the repurposed pedestrian bridge.
The video displayed a panoramic view of the current bridge and the future spot for the National Park, as previously reported on QuadCities.com, which would include a bison crossing, breathtaking views and other amenities.
The video can be seen here.
The foundation also posted the following on its social media:
What will be the location of the new I-80 Bridge?
The planned renovation of the bridge, for wildlife, pedestrians and bikers.
The Iowa and Illinois DOT is in the first phase of replacing the current I-80 Bridge, which includes an environmental study. They expect additional public coordination to occur within the next several months. So until then, we will not know the actual location of the new bridge.
It is within this timeframe that we are looking to hear your thoughts, opinions, and concerns about the
Bison Bridge proposal – and if you would like to see this come to fruition in the
Quad Cities.
If you support our proposal to save the old I-80 Bridge and repurpose the infrastructure into recreational greenspace, connecting Illinois and Iowa, please sign the petition linked below!
