Take A Dive To Dive Fest For Punk Rock

Are you ready for some live Punk Rock in the Quad Cities?! How about an entire day filled with it?! That’s right, the QCA is hosting its very own Punk Rock Festival!

Dive Fest 2017 will be hitting The Blackhawk Room at Bierstube in Moline (415 15^th Street) on Saturday June 24. The doors will open at 11 a.m. From noon-11:30 p.m. you will have a chance to witness 17 bands rocking out in downtown Moline. This is an all-ages show.

Jake Thomas, the festival’s creator and organizer shares, “I’m in a newly local band to the Quad Cities as I just moved here last August, called Minor Decline, and we are playing as well. I met all the bands playing on tours we have done around the Midwest over the years. All of them are really talented guys and just play for the sake of playing and having a good time. Every band is from out of town, too. The closest band is from Cedar Rapids (besides us, of course but we’re newly local). Furthest band for this year are The Rackatees out of Lawrence, KS. Super good dudes.”

Admission for the festival is $15 at the door. With this low price for 17 bands, Jake Thomas says the plan “is to get everyone at least gas money and hopefully bring punk rock back to the area. If one or two kids go home and start a punk band, it was a total success.”

Dive Fest 2017 t-shirts will also be sold at the festival for $15 each. Jake designed the t-shirts himself and had them printed at Color Works 2, off the Avenue of Cities, where he is a graphic designer.
