The Quad City Storm will open the 2021-2022 season Friday October 15th, 2021 at the TaxSlayer Center.  The game will be the first for the Storm since Sunday March 8th, 2020 and will end a 505 day stretch without professional hockey in the Quad Cities. On Tuesday, the classic rock band The Doobie Brothers announced they will bring their 50th Anniversary Tour to Moline’s TaxSlayer Center on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021. Tickets ($37.50-$89.50) will go on sale Friday, June 11 at 10 a.m., at the arena box office (1201 River Drive, Moline), and Ticketmaster.com. Last November, The Doobie Brothers announced a 30-city North American tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the band’s founding. MOLINE, IL-The Quad City Storm has selected its protected list for the 2021-2022 season.  The protected list includes players from the team’s 2020-2021 training camp roster that was established prior to the cancellation of last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The following players are not eligible to sign a training camp contract for the 2021-2022 season with any SPHL team other than the Storm. Hopefully, the third time is the charm for Canadian crooner Michael Buble and Moline’s TaxSlayer Center. The popular 45-year-old native of British Columbia was originally scheduled to perform at the arena last May, and Thursday, Jan. 7, his rescheduled 2021 tour was rescheduled again. Buble’s TaxSlayer date was moved from Feb. 20 to Sept. 16, 2021. Tickets for previously scheduled dates will be honored. Though long-awaited funding for live-music venues is part of the federal Covid stimulus bill recently signed into law, several Quad-Cities entertainment spaces are taking a “wait and see” attitude regarding the reality.
