The Rock Island-Milan School District 41 Board of Education has begun the search process for a new superintendent. We have selected SCHOOL EXEC CONNECT, an educational search firm, to assist us in this process. Charles Butler is a familiar face, but his new title is unfamiliar to the Rock Island-Milan School District. The first day of school for the RIMSD#41 2023-2024 school year is August 3rd, 2023. Starting on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, parents can log into Skyward Family Access and use the Registration tile to complete registration. This year all parents/guardians MUST provide proof of residency. Families have until June 2nd to do so. After June 2nd, families will need to come to the in-person registration days to provide proof of residency. Rock Island Summer Sports Camps Kicking Off

The following sports camps are scheduled for summer 2023: Rock Island Youth Football Camp 3rd-6th grades Attention all families with students entering 3-6th grade for the 2023-2024 school year.  Sign-ups for the 2023 Rock Island Youth Football program are open.  Equipment issue and practice begins in August.  All students in those grade levels are welcome to sign up to participate in Flag Football (3/4 grade) and tackle football 5/6 grade. Rock Island High School Students Sign Letters Of Intent For Education Program

Twenty-five students in Rock Island High School’s Education Internship Program signed letters of intent at a special ceremony yesterday. Education interns learn the foundations of education as well as gain hands-on experience. Interns work directly with district educators to observe and carry out a variety of classroom tasks and activities. Rock Island-Milan Education Foundation Awards a Record $141,200 in Scholarships

In a full Rock Island High School Auditorium, the Rock Island-Milan Education Foundation (RIMEF) awarded $141,200 to the Class of 2023 at its Austin Academic Achievement Awards and RIMEF Scholarships Night on May 9. 57 accomplished Rock Island High School (RIHS) seniors received $36,000 in Austin Academic Achievement Award (AAAA) scholarships and $105,200 RIMEF Named scholarships at the annual ceremony. The RIMEF also recognized the academic accomplishments of the Top Ten from each class with certificates and gift bundles. All students entering kindergarten, sixth, and ninth grade in the 2023-24 school year must have a school physical to avoid the October 15th exclusion deadline. You can register your child now (see PDF attached below) to attend one of the clinics being held this spring. Registration forms are due by March 31st. Please return all completed forms to your child’s school nurse. Please provide a copy of your insurance card. Ben Dixon has stood at the corner of 30th street and 31st avenue for the last 14 years making sure Eugene Field students get to school safely. He’s become a staple within the Eugene Field School community. “Every day Ben waves to all the staff and students. He knows who is at school and who isn’t.
