Rock Island Library is offering a number of resources for kids and parents around the area to enjoy online publications and media from their homes. Residents who do not have a card may apply for an eCard during the closure so that they use digital services. All Rock Island Public Libraries will close to the public through Saturday, April 4, 2020. This includes Library2Go routes, which will be suspended. This decision reflects the library’s commitment to work within federal, state, and local health guidelines, and as a prevention strategy to limit the spread of COVID-19 within our community. February is Library Lovers’ Month, and the Rock Island Public Library is offering a way for patrons to encourage the gift of reading all month long. Special Have a Heart for Reading donation trees will be available at Rock Island Downtown and Southwest Library locations from February 3 through 29. The trees contain hearts listing an anonymous library card account balance for a child aged 6 through 17 years old.
