If you’re excited about the new Star Wars movie, the Rock Island Public Library is offering a free event for all ages that takes a look at the science behind the movie. Science of Star Wars offers families and kids a chance to explore at to six stations that feature real technologies either predicted or used in the movies. Enjoy A Nice Skate At Frozen Landing

No need to travel all the way to the Rockefeller Center for outdoor ice skating! You can now enjoy this favorite winter past-time right here in the Quad Cities! The City of Bettendorf has officially opened the season for skating at Frozen Landing Family Ice Rink. The ice rink is located at the corner of Middle Road and 23rd Street. Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 12-9 p.m., Friday 12-10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday 12-6 p.m. These times are also dependent on weather conditions. There is no charge to skate. Register Now for Rock Island Library Summer Art and Math Programs

Parents of children in the seven to 14-year age ranges can keep them busy and learning this summer with four-week art and math programs at the Rock Island Public Library. Registration is now open for Design by Reading, presented by artist Gloria Burlingame, and Math by Design, presented by tutor Elizabeth Russell, offered at no additional charge on Tuesdays at the Main Library. Just in time for Shakespeare’s upcoming birthday, the great Bard of Avon gets the improv treatment at the Rock Island Public Library on Wednesday, April 20. Rock Island Public Library Offering Fun Over Break For Teens

Thousands of local teens are enjoying spring break right now, regardless of the weather, and Rock Island Public Library is presenting a number of activities to make their break a little sunnier, regardless of the snow. Teens can try their hand at coding and gaming this March with two separate events at the Rock Island Public Library.
