Quad City Storm Shows Thanks to United Way

The Quad City Storm and John Deere certainly have given United Way of the Quad Cities something to be thankful for this holiday season. The two paired up for John Deere night at a recent Storm game, Nov. 22, during which players wore custom John Deere jerseys that were auctioned off after the game. In total, the Storm and John Deere ended up raising $12,500 for United Way of the Quad Cities, making for a great Thanksgiving for all involved! The Quad City Storm promised to be the “community’s team” during their inaugural season last year and they put their money where their promise was. Are you ready to rock some hockey again? Stanley Cup got you psyched for the next season? Well, the Quad City Storm has just dropped their schedule for 2019-2020 and tickets are on sale now! Storm fans, it’s time to break out your calendars and mark down the dates for the upcoming season. Today the Quad City Storm acquired defenseman Tyler Minx from the Knoxville Ice Bears in exchange for future considerations. Minx, a left-handed defenseman, is a native of Oklahoma City.  Storm forward Tim Perks has been released to create roster space for Minx.    Storm defenseman Ludlow Harris Jr. has been suspended for a single game by the SPHL for an elbowing penalty he received in last Saturday’s game.  He will miss this Thursday’s game versus the Birmingham Bulls.  Per the SPHL: “Quad City’s Ludlow Harris, Jr. has been suspended one game as a result of his actions in SPHL... Read More

The Quad City Storm has reacquired forward Tim Perks. Perks was a member of the Storm’s training camp roster and released before the regular season roster was finalized.  He is a first-year pro and graduated from Northland College last year where he played for four years. The Quad City Storm Hockey team has reminded members of the community to be wary of online ticketing offers and scams ahead of Saturday’s inaugural season opener.    There were several reports of online purchase scams involving the opening night game on October 20. In most cases, fans received the tickets but were charged excessive service and handling fees.
