WQPT is happy to announce that their second channel 24.2 will begin airing DW (Duetsche Welle) beginning April 1. Duetsche Welle is a 24-hour English language TV channel, based in Germany and available almost everywhere in the world, with a mission to bring cultures together across the globe. Much like MHz Worldview, programming is from international sources. DW replaces MHz Worldview, which had been on 24.2 for the past 10 years. WQPT – PBS for the Quad Cities Region and Western Illinois University – Quad Cities’ Student Services invites all Quad Citizens to submit images of art, photos, and designs for possible display in the 5th Annual Campus Art Show. In April 2013 Mary Pruess was named General Manager of WQPT, Quad Cities PBS. During her tenure WQPT moved offices, restructured master control and programming and continued with a focus on the creation of local television programming, to be aired along with PBS programming. WQPT, PBS for the Quad Cities Region is hosting their 2019 Imagination Station for kids on March 16 on the campus of Western Illinois University-Quad Cities. The sold-out event will host over 4,000 children. The first session begins at 9 am and runs through 11 am. The second session begins at noon and runs through 2 pm.
