What Are Some Of The Biggest Oscar SNUBS In History?

What Are Some Of The Biggest Oscar SNUBS In History?

Oscar season is here and all the buzz around awards season got me thinking about the big snubs in the last 30+ years and how Pam Grier was robbed of a nomination for Jackie Brown. That led me down a mental rabbit hole and got me asking myself, “Who else should have been nominated?!” After scouring my brain for completely useless knowledge I came to a simple conclusion: the Academy should start giving out a special award for past work that was unrecognized. Sounds wild, right? Hear me out. Sometimes the Academy gets it wrong. Sometimes performers make us… laugh… and we know how the... Read More

Megyn Kelly Is Like A Drunk At A Dartboard When It Comes To Her Oscars Griping

I can’t say I usually agree with former Fox News outrage mannequin Megyn Kelly, but like a drunk at a dartboard, sometimes even though her aim is off, she hits the target. This can be seen in her latest tirade throwing red meat to the zombies looking for something to be angry about, in which she ripped on Sunday night’s Oscars ceremony and its skunky ratings, saying that the Academy Awards’ poor viewership numbers were because they were overly “woke.” “How’s all that incessant, insufferable woke, depressing lecturing via film, interviews, social media & at... Read More

St. Ambrose Music Professor Looks Back on 2019 Oscar Night, Considers A 2021 Nomination

Bill Campbell attended the 91st-annual Academy Awards ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles exactly two years ago, Feb. 24, 2019. And he may be part of another Oscar nominee this spring. “It was quite an amazing experience to be part of it,” he said of the 2019 event Wednesday. “Throughout the whole day and night, I kept reminding myself, I’m here because I wrote music for a film that’s all about trying to help people. And that felt good. “It did feel a little bit odd being there and celebrating it, but we worked hard for it and that was good,” Campbell said. “It was really... Read More
