Amidst a furious playoff run and some fantastic entertainment in front of growing crowds, the Quad City Storm has pulled the plug on their second season on order of their league, the SPHL. Sean Leary Soccer Camp Postponed Due To Coronavirus Concerns

The first annual Sean Leary Pre-Season Soccer Camp, originally due to begin Saturday, has been postponed due to concerns about the coronavirus. Officials at the venue for the event, Rivers Edge in Davenport, have been considering postponing events in light of the recent cancellations by other organizations and venues, including Moline’s TaxSlayer, and the camp decided to get ahead of the situation. The Quad City Storm’s season, as well as the seasons of all SPHL hockey teams, has been suspended due to concerns over the coronavirus. A press release from the SPHL released this evening stated: For the safety of our fans, players, team personnel and arena staff, the Southern Professional Hockey League today announced that due to concerns over the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, it has suspended the 2019-2020 season effective immediately. East Moline Silvis Soccer Club has long brought top soccer play to the area. Now they’re bringing TOPSoccer to the Quad-Cities. EMSSC is debuting TOPSoccer, a program for mentally and physically disabled people ages 5-22, at the East Moline Soccer Complex in May. Athletes with mental or physical disabilities can check out the Beautiful Game with a beauty of a new program from East Moline Silvis Soccer Club! EMSSC is proud to present Top Soccer!  This program is for athletes ages 5-22 with mental or physical disabilities who want to learn to play soccer.  This will be a four week session in May, where once per week athletes practice skills and then participate in a coach-led game! Tuesday January 28th the TaxSlayer Center will be open to the public from 10 AM – 7 PM for the Storm’s Hockey Fights Cancer Ice Painting.  Quad Citizens are encouraged to come to the arena to paint the names of loved ones who have fought cancer on the ice in the color that symbolizes the cancer they fought.  Painting is free and the Storm will be providing paint, brushes and everything needed for painting names on the ice.
