Quad City Arts on Tuesday announced the full schedule of events for Chalk Art Fest in Schwiebert Park, downtown Rock Island, June 26-27. One of the most unique, colorful, fun, and creative stores in the Quad-Cities is going to be closing its doors. Crafted QC, at 221 E. 2nd St., will be shutting down for good at the end of August. The owner of the store, Mary Talbert, sent out this announcement and posted this to her social media today: So this is a hard email to write, but I’m confident this is 100% the right decision. Quad City Arts Unveils New Public Sculptures This Week

Seven public sculptures in Bettendorf and two in Moline will be moving to other locations and replaced with new sculptures over the next 15 days, beginning Monday, June 7th. Moline is adding two more sculptures this year and the Geneseo Public Library will be leasing a sculpture for the first time. Rock Island has elected to re-lease four of the sculptures from last years’ selection and purchase the sculpture titled “Reaching to the Moon” by Tim Frye for its permanent collection. Moline-based Living Proof Exhibit hosts Creative Sessions each month with a variety of community partners at various locations in the region and has one coming up in Muscatine, for the first time in a long time. Quad City Arts is helping promote a new grant opportunity for artists to help combat rampant vaccine hesitancy nationwide. It is posting the fact that Arts Alliance Illinois is looking for practicing local artists (any medium) whose audiences reach Illinois residents under 35 years old, people of color, and women. Spring Beaux Arts Fair Returns to Davenport Fairgrounds This Weekend

The 68th bi-annual Beaux Arts Fair returns to the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, 2815 W. Locust St., Davenport, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fair is free to the public and is held rain or shine each May and September. The Beaux Arts Fund Committee, a non-profit group of volunteers, donates all proceeds to the Figge Art Museum to fund exhibitions and educational programs. No commissions will be charged. The newest Quad City Arts’ Art at the Airport exhibit is all in the family — paintings by Kristin Quinn of Davenport, with ceramic creations by her sister, Megan Quinn, of Rock Island, on display through June 30. Megan Quinn is a professor at Augustana College in Rock Island, while Kristin Quinn is a professor at St. Ambrose University in Davenport. Megan is a ceramic artist, and Kristin is a painter.
