Midcoast Fine Arts and Bucktown in downtown Davenport have got two great new exhibits adorning the walls over the next month. The art of Jane Doty and Amber Williams runs through March 28 at Bucktown. Amber Williams has worked in collage since childhood and refocused on the medium in 2010. “I deconstruct materials by color, pattern, shape, etc. to create new images.” Her new collages expand the kinds of materials and processes she incorporates, including underlying collages, chips of paint, feathers and polyacrylic phototransfers. You can experience the beauty of Eden at Rock Island’s Rozz Tox. Eden is the third photography exhibition at Rozz-Tox for Quad City photographer Laura Heath. Having successes with her last two shows she will be showing her third show once again at Rozz-Tox. Eden has assisted her artistic progression to become more focused on improving her composition and lighting.  Named Eden to signify the idea that nudity need not be hidden away. PaperFest Cutting Into Quad-Cities Next Weekend

PaperFest, a new visual arts event in the Quad Cities, will include art demos and family-friendly hands-on art activities, all with paper. Activities planned are paper book folding, foam core sculpture, origami, collage and paper making. Bucktown Is Back!

Bucktown is back.   The art gallery is reopening today after being closed for over two months due to the Flood of 2019. Sunrise Galleries East in the Bucktown Center for the Arts is reinstalling paintings and photography after having the business closed since April 30th when a Hesco barrier broke flooding Downtown Davenport. Gallery owners Jane Doty and Jim Elias will be in their business today from 10:00am to 3:00pm hanging art they removed during the flood.
