The Rust Belt has finally announced an ACTUAL in-person concert for this fall! Socially-distanced and outdoors, of course. According to The Rust Belt’s Facebook page this morning, country music artist Joe Nichols will be performing live on Saturday Oct 10 at Murphy Park (900 Bend Blvd East Moline). The “Life is Beautiful” fundraising event is back this weekend for its third year, with a “Quaran-Tune” twist. A three-night live stream from Bishop Hill Creative Commons, a visual and performing arts cooperative in Bishop Hill, is being made possible by Heartland Connections. The highly anticipated “Clash of Legends” is officially upon us! Quad Cities’ fighting legends, Michael Nunn and Pat Miletich, were originally scheduled to fight on Apr 18 at the TaxSlayer Center. However, due to Covid-related issues, the battle was rescheduled to this Saturday Jul 18 at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds (2815 W Locust St. Davenport). The “Clash of Legends” will take place outdoors, in a temporary venue in the parking lot. The lot is located directly south of the Fair Center, where an after-party will take place. Just because school is out, that doesn’t mean the fun and learning has to end! Throughout the month of July, the Davenport Public Library will be hosting Fairytale STEM on Facebook Live. The fun kicks off this Thursday Jul 2 from 2 – 2:30 p.m. and will continue every Thursday afternoon throughout the month of July.
