The Quad City Storm promised to be the “community’s team” during their inaugural season last year and they put their money where their promise was. Earlier this month, local hockey team the Quad City Storm were named Wanda Amos award winners; the award given by the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) for superior community service. The Quad City Storm electrified the coffers of local charities during the hockey team’s inaugural season, striking lightning with the power of generosity as they raised a whopping $162,754 for area charities. The Storm held its end-of-season press conference Monday to announce the gifts and wrap up their inaugural journey, which ended with a 5-4 win over Evansville at Moline’s TaxSlayer Center Saturday night. Quad City Storm End Successful Inaugural Season!

The Quad City Storm ended their home season at the TaxSlayer Center in Moline Saturday night, playing before a packed crowd of appreciative fans! The team ended their home run of their inaugural season as big winners, and so were the charities of the Quad-Cities, as the Storm surpassed their preseason goal of $100,000 raised for local charities by raising OVER $150,000 for charity! KISS night at the Q-C Storm!

Over 4,000 rock and rolled all night as the Q-C Storm rewarded them with a big victory on KISS night! Fans got to celebrate with the rock hits of their favorite band and break the record for most people wearing KISS masks at an arena! They also bid on various KISS items and jerseys and to date the Storm have raised over $30,000 for the USO with their efforts in conjunction with the band. Q-C Storm Raises Over $20,000 To Fight Cancer

The Quad City Storm, “the team that gives back,” hosted a Hockey Fights Cancer Weekwhich began with a Paint the Ice Event on February 6 and ended with a win over arch rival Peoria Rivermen on February 9. The game drew a crowd of over 5,000 and raised $21,700 for Gilda’s Club of the Quad Cities. The Storm’s Giving Back Campaign, #QCSTORMCARES, has now raised over $64,700 in only 16 games with hopes to raise $100,000 for local charities before the season ends in April.
