Quad City Theatre Workshop in Davenport will open Peter and the Starcatcher–the last production of their current season–on Friday, June 2. The show tells the back story to Peter Pan in the most playful and endearing way. The State Historical Museum of Iowa in Des Moines is heading to Davenport! In a Winnebago! That’s right, the traveling museum showcasing all that is Iowa will be making a week-long stop at the Putnam Museum (1717 W 12th Street Davenport) and tours are free! Ellen Rink, of Rock Island, credits Dr. Benjamin Van Raalte with saving her life. Van Raalte, of Bettendorf, whose practice is Iowa Plastic Surgery in Davenport, knew Rink did not have an ordinary freckle on her face. “She did not know that the growth on her face was melanoma (an advanced form of skin cancer),” Van Raalte says. “She did not even know I was a physician.
