During last week’s Moline City Council Committee-of-the-Whole meeting, aldermen held an informational discussion looking at the city’s gaming regulations and whether they should be modified in order to allow more establishments to offer slots and other gaming machines as well as increasing the number of gaming stations allowed in those establishments. City Of Moline Drug Collection Day A Success

The Moline Police Department partnered with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (D.E.A.) on Saturday October 23rd from 10am –2pm to dispose of unwanted, unused and expired prescription medications. The collection site was at the Moline Police Department (1640 6th Avenue Moline). Our volunteers had a great turn out and collected 6 full trash bags of unwanted, expired and unused prescription medications. That’s a total weight of 155 pounds of prescription medications. The prescription medications will now be destroyed at a facility where it can be done in an environmentally safe manner.... Read More

The City of Moline is joining the Public Sculpture Program, facilitated by Quad City Arts and funded by Renew Moline. Two new sculptures will be arriving on the riverfront in coming weeks. “Swans on the Marsh” by V. Skip Willits of Camanche, IA, will be mounted this week on the river walk at 15th Street. Regarding inspiration for the sculpture, Willits states, “I was walking along the shore of a marsh by the river one day and spied three swans on the water.
