The Quad Cities River Bandits have their Opening Day on Tuesday, May 11, and individual tickets for the 2021 season will go on sale Friday, April 30th at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online, calling the River Bandits box office at 563-333-2737, or at the ticket window (209 S. Gaines St., Davenport) during normal business hours. BREAKING NEWS: While Major League Baseball is scheduled to start spring training Feb. 28 and Opening Day is April 1, the Quad Cities River Bandits will return to play a 120-game schedule, with their season opener on the road Tuesday, May 4, 2021, against the South Bend Cubs. The River Bandits home opener will be on Tuesday, May 11, at 6:30 p.m. against the Cedar Rapids Kernels at Davenport’s Modern Woodmen Park. Single game tickets will go on sale Monday, April 19. Quad Cities River Bandits Become Kansas City Royals Advanced-A Affiliate

The Quad Cities River Bandits will move up a level of play and become a Kansas City Royals affiliate, whenever the team ends up playing again after covid-19 mitigations. Major League Baseball announced today that the Quad Cities River Bandits and eleven other Midwest League teams will be moving up one level of play, as the team and the league have been promoted from Single-A to Advanced-A baseball. Rock Island Parks And Recreation Rolls Out Reopening Plans

As we approach Phase 3 – Recovery in the State plan to Restore Illinois, the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department is making plans in accordance with the Governor’s guidelines. Phase 3 is tentatively scheduled to begin May 29th. If Phase 3 is put in place, the Department will begin modified programming for groups up to 10. The Quad City River Bandits could be sinking, or changing ships, losing their affiliate as an official minor league team to Major League Baseball in 2020. According to an article published Saturday in the New York Times, a Major League Baseball proposal has been forwarded that would cut ties between 42 minor league teams and their major league partners.  The Quad City River Bandits, a minor league affiliate of the Houston Astros, are on that list.
