For the past two years, I have ridden on Augustana’s Western Equestrian Team with the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. The Quad City Playwrights’ Festival is quickly approaching and submissions are being accepted now. Selected works will be presented in a staged reading in the Honkamp Black Box Theatre in the Brunner Theatre Center on May 13, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. The festival is currently calling for submissions. The United States Navy Concert Band, which has been entertaining audiences and supporting the Navy with some of the best musicians in the country, played to a full house at Augustana College’s Centennial Hall this weekend. The band has played for a Quad-Cities audience many times, and the college was glad to once again host them for an energetic and high-level performance. The Augustana College Department of Theatre will be postponing their Black Box student-directed production of Stop Kiss until next season. This postponed performance was previously scheduled to run this weekend, April 6-9. The band She/Her will no longer be performing as part of the Stop Kiss production.
