Moline Cub Scouts to hold Roundup on Tuesday night

Cub Scouts gives kids the chance to get outdoors, explore nature, learn new skills, build confidence, and simply have fun being kids.

Whether it’s hiking, camping, games, service projects, or hands-on activities, there’s always something new to experience.

Families in Moline can join Moline Pack 3119 for their Cub Scout Roundup on Tuesday, September 8 at 6 p.m. at Bethel Wesley Church, 1201 13th St., Moline.

Come see how much fun your child can have when they unplug, get outside, and start an adventure of their own. The pack is open to boys and girls in grades K–5. They are a family pack, so parents are fully involved with their children, says Cubmaster Melissa Rangen.

For Scouts at the Roundup, the kids will start working on their first rank, the Bobcat, by learning the Scout Oath and Law. They will make a colored bead keychain with a card matching the Scout Law to help them memorize it. They will also spend time getting to know their den members and leaders.

For parents, Rangen will discuss the benefits of Cub Scouts, answer questions, and assist interested families with completing applications and payments.

She restarted the pack after COVID with just 4 scouts, and this will be her sixth year serving as Cubmaster, averaging around 25 scouts each year.
