Dave Pszenczny Inked To Two-Year Extension With Quad City Storm

The Quad City Storm is excited to announce Storm head coach Dave Pszenczny has been signed to a two-year contract extension.  In an abbreviated second season with the Storm, Pszenyczny increased the team’s winning percentage significantly and navigated the Storm in to one of eight playoff positions at year’s end. “We made great progress in multiple ways this season,” said Pszenyczny. “I’m disappointed this team didn’t get a chance to excite the Quad Cities in the playoff push and postseason, but I couldn’t be more excited for next year.  I’d put our returning core of players... Read More

Gwen Tombergs Skates From Quad City Storm To United Way

The Quad City Storm announced today that Storm President, Gwen Tombergs, will be stepping down and joining the United Way staff as their Vice President of Development. “The Storm is on solid ground and everything is in place to keep the team going strong,” said Tombergs. “Our front office is trained, processes are in place and we have a great coach and team.  I feel comfortable handing over the reins.” Team owner, John Dawson, said the position at United Way is a good fit for Tombergs. “Her passion has always been to help the community and she built the Storm’s reputation on that.... Read More

Honor Loved Ones With Quad City Storm’s Paint The Ice

Tuesday January 28th the TaxSlayer Center will be open to the public from 10 AM – 7 PM for the Storm’s Hockey Fights Cancer Ice Painting.  Quad Citizens are encouraged to come to the arena to paint the names of loved ones who have fought cancer on the ice in the color that symbolizes the cancer they fought.  Painting is free and the Storm will be providing paint, brushes and everything needed for painting names on the ice. Storm and RIA, With The Help Of Ninja Turtles, Help Honor Flight

Yesterday the Storm and RIA Federal Credit Union presented a check in the amount of $4525 to Honor Flight of The Quad Cities.  The money was raised through the Storm’s Nickelodeon Night game on December 27th and a game worn Ninja Turtle jersey auction, both of which were sponsored by RIA Federal Credit Union. Quad City Storm Forward Fries Named Player Of The Week

Storm forward Connor Fries has been named the SPHL’s Warrior ‘Player Of The Week.’  It is the first player of the week honor for a Storm player in franchise history.  Per the SPHL: “The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced that Connor Fries of the Quad City Storm was named the Warrior Hockey/SPHL Player of the Week for December 30-January 5. Stanley Cup Coming To Quad-Cities, Courtesy Of The Storm!

The Stanley Cup is coming to the Quad-Cities! The Stanley Cup returns to the Quad Cities for the first time in four years as the Storm celebrate Radar’s 1st birthday Friday December 20th at 7:00 P.M.The TaxSlayer Center doors will open to the general public at 6:00 P.M. and the Stanley Cup will remain on display on the arena concourse until the start of the third period. Quad City Storm Shows Thanks to United Way

The Quad City Storm and John Deere certainly have given United Way of the Quad Cities something to be thankful for this holiday season. The two paired up for John Deere night at a recent Storm game, Nov. 22, during which players wore custom John Deere jerseys that were auctioned off after the game. In total, the Storm and John Deere ended up raising $12,500 for United Way of the Quad Cities, making for a great Thanksgiving for all involved!
